SSA RBR: Pioneering Health Research in Sub-Saharan Africa

The Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Biorepository (SSA RBR) plays a pivotal role in enhancing the health research infrastructure across Sub-Saharan Africa. By facilitating the collection, storage, and distribution of biological samples, SSA RBR supports critical health research, particularly in the battle against diseases such as HIV/AIDS. Imago Visual was tasked with developing a logo and brand identity that reflect the importance and scope of SSA RBR’s work.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to create a logo that embodies SSA RBR’s regional focus and its vital role in health research. The logo needed to incorporate symbols and colours that resonate with the organisation’s mission and the critical nature of its work.

What we did
  • Created a logo that incorporates the iconic AIDS ribbon, symbolising the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS, intertwined with elements that represent the storage and protection of vital biological samples.
  • Selected a colour palette featuring red for the ribbon, symbolising awareness and urgency, and dark blue for the typography, conveying trust and stability.
  • Chose professional, clear typography that complements the logo’s symbolism, enhancing the overall impact and readability of the brand identity.
