SAHRA: Designing Heritage-Inspired Print Materials

The South African Heritage Resource Agency (SAHRA) is tasked with preserving the nation’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Imago Visual was entrusted to design compelling print materials for the “PO Box 1” Heritage public exhibition and seminars, held at the historic Castle in 2014, to engage the public in South Africa’s storied past.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to produce invites and posters that not only captured the historical essence of the historic Castle but also appealed to a contemporary audience. The materials needed to be educational, engaging, and reflective of SAHRA’s mission to preserve and promote national heritage.

What we did
  • Utilised historical imagery and themes to create a visual connection to South Africa’s past, ensuring the designs were both informative and evocative.
  • Merged modern design elements with traditional silhouette to produce visually appealing and culturally relevant print materials.
  • Ensured high-quality print production to produce durable and memorable materials suitable for a high-profile public exhibition.
