Gender Health & Justice Research Unit: Advocacy Through Design

Imago Visual collaborated with the Gender Health & Justice Research Unit (GHJRU) at the University of Cape Town, an interdisciplinary research unit addressing social exclusion and violence. We were tasked with designing a banner that succinctly communicated their mission and the critical nature of their work in gender-based violence, sexual and gender minority rights, and reproductive rights.

Challenge

The main challenge was to design a banner that encapsulated the extensive research and advocacy efforts of GHJRU in a manner that was both visually appealing and informative. The banner needed to engage a diverse audience, including researchers, practitioners, and conference attendees.

What we did

Created a visually engaging banner that aligns with GHJRU’s branding while effectively broadcasting their key services and mission.
Employed a clean, straightforward layout to ensure the quick and clear communication of essential information, maintaining visual appeal.
Managed the print production process to ensure the final product reflected GHJRU’s professionalism and commitment to social advocacy.
