FaCE at UCT: Uniting Care with Innovative Design

The Department of Family, Community, and Emergency Care (FaCE) at the University of Cape Town combines various health-focused disciplines under one roof, aiming to foster a community-centred approach to healthcare. Imago Visual was tasked with creating a new logo and brand identity that would reflect FaCE’s commitment to inclusive, comprehensive health services.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to design a logo that captures the essence of FaCE, which spans everything from palliative care to community health initiatives. It needed to align with UCT’s branding guidelines while evoking feelings of hope, progress, and togetherness, effectively representing all the divisions within FaCE.

What we did
  • Created a logo featuring hands interlocked, symbolising transformation and wellness, integrated with elements that represent community and interconnectedness.
  • Chose colours that complement UCT’s branding, focusing on simplicity and clean lines to ensure the logo feels both modern and timeless.
  • Developed a brand identity that communicates the department’s mission and values, promoting a sense of unity and inclusiveness across various healthcare disciplines.
